I’m Oliver Bartman, and I’ve been teaching English to second language learners around the world since 2015. After several years teaching English in Tianjin, China, I relocated to the dreaming spires of Oxford and created a warm and welcoming classroom in cosmopolitan Cowley.
Here and online, I offer bespoke English tuition to learners of all ages and backgrounds, priding myself on my personable approach and tailored tuition designed to help you achieve your goals. As a fluent speaker of Mandarin, as well as a little German and Japanese, I’m a language learner myself – so I know all too well the challenges it brings, and the needs you have as a learner!
I enjoy sharing language and learning what I can from others, and that’s why I like to think of our English tutoring sessions as more of a conversation than a lesson – something that also helps you learn from my ‘Queen’s English’ articulation and pronunciation. It’s this warm, personal approach that helps my students develop a strong grasp of the English language and its famous complexities. I’m told it also makes the whole process more enjoyable!
